BEHIND THE SCENES TOUR
AT THE KERN COUNTY MUSEUM
Assistant Director Jeff Nickell and Curator Lori Wear will take you on a tour of the museum's storage
in the basement of the historic Kern County Chamber of Commerce building built in 1928. You
will have the chance to see how the museum preserves such historical objects as Native American baskets, historic photographs
(some 400,000 of them), Sanborn and other maps, clothing, Bakersfield Sound memorabilia, and a variety of archived materials
(including transaction registers, diaries, tax rolls, etc.)
This meeting will not include lunch.
We will meet outside the museum at the gate entrance.
